About the seminar
Scholars argue that anti-Semitism in Norway is less than it was ten years ago. Yet, many Jews view anti- Semitism as an increasing problem in Norway. Although many studies have started to address Jews’ experiences of discrimination and anti-Semitism in Norway, there is still little research about their experiences in school.

In this seminar, PhD candidate Kristoffer Løkken Økland will present findings from his narrative interview study about the school and youth experiences of nine young Norwegians Jews. In his study, Kristoffer explores how young Jews negotiate their identity in the context of their interactions with their peers and their prejudices against them.
