FN behöver din hjälp

Vi har fått detta brev från UNHCR i Kanada:

East Africa crisis now affects 10 million people.
*** Please donate today at http://www.unhcr.ca/somalia***

Dear supporter,

Since I wrote to you last week, 2,000 people a day are still arriving at our camps in Ethiopia and Kenya. They are fleeing the drought that has ravaged East Africa.

More than 500,000 refugees have made the trip so far and there’s no sign of it slowing down. As you can imagine, our camps are quickly filling up: Camp Kobe is the newest and it’s expected to be full within the week. A new Camp Helowen is under construction and we’re in desperate needs of supplies to fully outfit it.

Thanks to the quick response of generous donors like you, we’ve already been able to deploy Emergency Response Team members. They’ve reported back on what the immediate needs in the camps are and it’s clear there’s still a great need for support. Won’t you please help us provide food and shelter to the Somali refugees by making a donation today at http://www.unhcr.ca/somalia?

Your gift will help purchase the following essential items:
$500 will purchase a family tent
$50 will buy ten warm blankets
$20 purchases ten sleeping mats
$75 will buy 75 bars of soap
$40 will purchase two full kitchen sets
$45 will shelter a refugee family for an entire month

Whatever you can afford to give will help people who arrive at our camps with nothing.

Sincerely,
Kelly Ducharme
